Dag 1
Regular transfer leaving from the airport of Cuiaba at 13:00 and 17:30 to Pousada do Rio Mutum, passing through the small village of Mimoso. From Cuiabá to the lodge is about 130 km, of which 50 km on highways and 80 km of dirt roads. The trip takes 2 to 3 hours during drought periods; during flood periods it can take longer, depending on the conditions of the roads.
Since the road is the trans-Pantanal, one can enjoy the beautiful landscape and the various species of birds and small animals during the trip.
After check-in, introduction to the lodge and area around it.
In the evening a delicious piranha soup is served just before dinner. After dinner, introduction to the activities of the following days. Overnight.
Dag 2
After breakfast, horseback trail riding in the area, up to the edge of the Siá Mariana bay. During the whole year, a big variety of birds, animals and reptiles can be observed.
Return to the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, a boat ride for a photographic safari in Mutum River. In its crystal clear water, it is possible to see giant otters, stingrays and huge schools of small fish. At the Mutum river banks, a large variety of birds can be observed. Return to the lodge for dinner, then nocturnal animal spotting by jeep in the area surrounding the lodge. Overnight.
Dag 3
After breakfast, ecological walk through the forest and the open fields to observe animals and birds. Having the largest diversity of bird species in the world, the Pantanal is especially interesting for bird watching.
Return to the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, a boat trip down the Mutum river banks, Siá Mariana bay and Chacororé bay. Return by boat to the lodge, stopping to see the sunset at the Siá Mariana bay and do piranha fishing*.
In the evening, cayman feeding with the piranhas fished from Siá Mariana bay and nocturnal animals spotting. Dinner and overnight.
*According to the law, fishing is forbidden from October to March.
Dag 4
4:30 am – Canoeing in the Mutum river to observe the sunrise and the beauty of wildlife at the break of dawn in the Pantanal.
Return to the lodge, breakfast and transfer to the Cuiabá airport at 07:00 or 11:00 with arrival at 10:00 and 14:00.
Information Pousada Rio Mutum
Situated between the lakes Sia Mariana and Chacorore within one of the most beautiful regions of the Pantanal of Mato Grosso. The Pousada itself belongs to the county of Barão do Melgaco, which comprises more than 11.000 square kilometres, 97% of which remain flooded during the rainy season. The region of Barão de Melgaço is distinguished by an unusual variety of landscapes being divided between hills and lakes and rivers or grassy plains.
The Pousada do Rio Mutum lies, as its name indicates, at the River Mutum, shortly before it terminates in the great lakes. The bigges lake, called "Baia de Chacorore", have a diameter of more than 15 km. With so much water the Pantanal is above all a paradise for fishes and birds and thus for fishers and ornithologists or bird-watchers. There lives, however, many other kinds of animals in the Pantanal and you may encounter açigators and jaguars, tapirs, monkeys of various kinds and deer, capybaras as well as anacondas and anteaters, and much more.
The Pousada Do Rio Mutum has been constructed according to international standards taking into account, in particular, the demands of modern eco-tourism and the interests of sportfishing.

What to Bring
Light cotton clothes, pants, shorts, hat, sun block lotion, raincoat, personal medicine, swimming suit and tennis shoes or hiking boots.

- Children Policy: Up to the completion of 05 years of age, children sharing parents room are free of charge. Children from 6 to the completion of 11 years of age, a charge of 40% of the adult's value.
